Caring Communities has launched a new ‘Care at Home’ service to provide a range of help and support services to those aged 55+ in the Somerset area.
‘Care at Home’ will provide a range of tailored home care services to local residents – from regular visits to provide personal care, medication and domestic support to full-time live-in care.
The service will be spearheaded by newly-appointed Regional Home Care Manager Bex Symes, who has joined Caring Communities from Bluebird Care in Dorset. An experienced manager and carer, she was the winner of ‘Home Care Manager of the Year’ for the south-west region at the Great British Care Awards in 2015.
Recruitment is now underway as Bex looks to grow her carer team quickly, and the company will be introducing a fleet of branded ‘care cars’ over the summer months, enabling senior carers and supervisors to travel easily across the region without using their own vehicles.
Rob Fielder, Caring Communities’ Executive Director of Care & Support, explains:
“As well as providing premium living accommodation for those in later life, we recognise that many people still want to live in their own home but need a little extra help and support day-to-day - maybe a helping hand around the house, or assistance with personal care needs, or simply companionship.
Our new Care at Home service will deliver care and support tailored to individual needs, in the comfort of their own home. We’re delighted to have an award-winning manager of Bex’s calibre on board to grow this part of the business, and I look forward to seeing our ‘care cars’ on the streets of Yeovil and Sherborne in the near future.”
Bex Symes, Caring Communities’ Regional Home Care Manager said:
“I am very excited to be joining such a new and exciting local care business, and look forward to working with local residents and communities to understand their individual care needs – giving them the reassurance and support to enjoy living at home as independently as possible.”
